River Almond at Cramond

The River Almond flows through West Lothian and through North West Edinburgh. It arrives at the River Forth at the village of Cramond. At Cramond you will find a Roman site. If the tide is out you can walk across to Cramond Island. The walk along the banks of the Almond from Cramond to Cramond Brig is peaceful. Just before you come to the weir, you will probably see a heron standing, watching and waiting.
